The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) which came into full effect in October 2004 requires service providers to ensure that disabled users are not discriminated against or disadvantaged when accessing information or services. This includes information and services provided online.

There are over 8.5 million people registered as disabled in the UK so it makes sense to have a website that all these people can use.
